The Challenge
The HP TouchSmart tx2 Notebook PC is the very first notebook powered by multi-touch technology. What we needed to do was to educate people on the benefits of multi-touch technology.
Insight
Back then, no one knew how to perform multi-touch gestures. It would be great if people could see it in action.
The Idea
The key message here is that the HP TouchSmart tx2 is user-friendly because it is "Finger-Friendly". So we dramatised that notion and created a group of 5 Finger Friends. We took great care to develop their personalities and traits to make them endearing so that users could relate to them. By getting to know the "relationship" between these finger friends, users got a visual sense of how these fingers "work together" to create the relevant multi-touch gestures
Simply put, we made the education of product attributes personal and interesting through the art of charming storytelling.
