The Opportunity
Sony was appointed an official FIFA Partner, one of only 6 organisations in the world to be given this privilege. This presented a fantastic opportunity to connect with passionate football fans around the world and ultimately create greater awareness for Sony High definition (HD) products.

The Challenge
With millions of fans in the world and just as many brands out there trying to score their way into this market, Sony had to demonstrate their true passion for the game in order to win these fans over.

The Insight
Football fanatics are tribal in nature. Yet they show their support for the team they love in their unique and individualistic way.

The Idea
We created Sony Football Asia, a platform where football fans can choose to express their passion in ways more than one.

Here, they can design their very own GameFace characters and use it as their Facebook profile picture. Or answer a series of quizzes to show the world their astute football knowledge. Share their personal opinions about football issues on the Facebook group. They can also design their own virtual HD living room made up of Sony HD products.

To reward our fans’ participation, we developed games such as the Sony Kickathon and Goalkeeper Challenge with attractive prizes that include tickets to the World Cup 2010, Sony Bravia TVs and more.
